Coming home to perform in The Gambia and finding a room at this level — Motherland is world class. That energy stayed with me long after the show.
Motherland is the stage every Gambian artist dreams about. The sound is clean, the lights hit, and the crowd is right there with you all night.
From soundcheck to the last song, everything just works. They treat artists properly here — and the crowd gives you back double.
I have promoted shows all over the country. Motherland is the only venue where production is never my worry — the room does half the selling for you.
The booth, the monitors, that sound system — this room was built for DJs. When Motherland is full, there is nowhere better to play.
I play this room every week and it still surprises me. Watching it become the home of Gambian nightlife from behind the decks is something special.
